FAQs

VR Oculus FAQs

  • What should be done if there is a continuous black screen with three dots loading?

There is a possibility that the quest link is not working. You can disconnect the cable from your system/laptop and connect it again, restarting the quest link from Oculus.

  • Why can I see things much higher in the Oculus than my height while performing an experiment?

There are chances that the floor level is not correctly set during the guardian setting stage.

    • Close the experiment by long pressing the ‘O’ button from the right joystick and quit the application.
    • Then, you must go to the Wi-Fi menu bar, select the guardian/boundary button, and select the room-scale boundary.
    • On its selection, it will prompt you to set the floor height. You need to touch any joysticks to your actual floor and select confirm.
  • Which is better, room-scale or stationary boundary?

Based on your dedicated space, you can choose the boundaries. Roomscale allows you to physically roam within the selected virtual space, whereas a stationary boundary allows you to sit and explore the virtual space.

  • What if I can not perform the next activity while performing the VR practical, and no guidance/highlighter is found around?

In this case, you might be missing something to execute, like grabbing the tool, etc. Look around for the green or yellow highlights to finish the assigned task. If it does not proceed further, you can skip the task, and if you find things are not working in order, you can quit the application by long pressing the ‘O’ button.

  • What should you do while some animation is going on?

The user must watch the complete animation, understand the content, or observe how to perform the entire task before proceeding with the interactions in VR.

  • How do you abort the VR practical and close the session?

You can abort and stop the session by clicking on the Alt+F4 keys or by long pressing the ‘O’ button and then selecting quit application.

VR Hub FAQs

  • What if I cannot see any practical in the Library section of the EnggOnline VR Hub?

Your login session lasts 48 hours; after this period, the system logs you out automatically. If needed, you can log in again to start a new session.

  • What if my Wi-Fi or internet connection turns off during a download on EnggOnline VR Hub?

The application will dump the half-downloaded file as corrupt and throw an error message saying, “This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify this is a valid Windows installer package.” You need to delete the corrupt file from the download folder and start the download again.

  • Why can I not see the other VR modules in my Library which are available in the EnggOnline Hub’s Category section?

VR modules under the Category tab are the complete list of all available VR modules for purchase. You cannot see other VR modules because your subscription does not include that subject or those modules.

  • What if the procedure in any practical is different from college practice?

The VR practicals adhere to procedures outlined by subject matter experts. If you find some different procedure per your college requirements, you can always follow the guidelines from your respective faculty. The VR sessions primarily emphasize conveying information and a comprehensive approach to the tasks at hand.

  • How to update an existing module?

Upon logging into Enggonline VR Hub, notice the presence of green arrows situated on the left side of the application next to the subject list. These green arrows serve as indicators, signaling updates, or new content available for download within the respective subjects.
